Stolen Road Signs: A Gloucestershire Haul

Despite it being easier than ever to order your own personalized or official Road Signs, people continue to steal whatever they can get their hands on.

From custom Lord of the Rings Signs in Oregon to over $11,000 in official traffic signs in Georgia, there’s no shortage of people stealing signs. This time is no different. Police in Cirencester were tipped off about a rather unusual find: a haul of traffic cones and road signs stockpiled in a “young man’s” apartment.

While the sign-stealing bandit from Monroe County, Georgia targeted signs with a high resell value, this particular individual simply took everything he came across. When you look at what he stole, there doesn’t seem to be any real rhyme or reason to it. Police recovered a “skid risk” sign, a sign warning people against “fly-tipping,” and even other signs that appear to be for specific addresses.

The image of the police van and signs was shared on Twitter by Cotswold Police, who is a great follow if you’re interested in the more unusual things officers come across.
